Why Sustainability Matters to Us

At Tasman Clothing, we believe fashion should respect both people and the planet. From responsibly sourced fabrics to ethical production, we’re working to ensure every garment we create reflects our values of quality, transparency, and care for the environment.

Areas of focus

Ethical Production

Fair wages, safe conditions, and local partnerships

Eco-Friendly Materials

Use of organic, recycled, and low-impact textiles

Low Waste

Small-batch production, minimal packaging

Transparency

Clear sourcing, ethical supplier codes, honest impact

Responsible Materials

We choose materials with both quality and sustainability in mind. From certified organic cotton to recycled synthetics, our fabrics are selected for their low environmental impact and high wearability.

We also take responsibility for what happens to garments that don’t make it past quality control. Rejected prints or imperfect items are never sent to landfill. Instead, we donate, reuse, or recycle them through our internal processes.

Tasman Clothing proudly partners with local charities to help clothe those in need and with organisations that repurpose clothing and textiles for new uses. We believe every item should have a second life whether it’s reworn, reworked, or recycled.

When you're finished wearing your custom Tasman tees, we encourage you to keep them out of landfill. For recycling options in Tasmania, explore services from UPPAREL or After both offering convenient, Australia-based clothing recycling programs.

Customer Packaging

We prioritize sustainability from the first moment you receive your order. We carefully package your custom apparel in recycled mailers made from ocean plastics or in cardboard boxes for larger orders, all sealed with eco-tape. The stickers and care cards that add the perfect finishing touch are produced by a local printing partner who uses soya-based inks and energy-efficient technology to ensure every detail is high-quality and eco-friendly.

Warehouse Packaging

We have reduced our use of plastic waste where possible using eco-friendly and biodegradable satchels, switching from bubble wrap to hex wrap and offering multiple garment packing options to reduce plastic use per order.
